Weather Man?...err...Weather "people"?

Why is it when you watch the weather on one news channel it says 90 on Monday, 89 and showers on Tuesday and 78 on Wednesday...then the other weather channel says 89 on Monday, 87 on Tuesday, 77 and showers on Wednesday. How are you supposed to plan and prepare for your week when you have conflicting weather reports? Should you just plan for rain on Tuesday and Wednesday? Because that is no fun...we like to play outside. But then, I guess you could be pleasantly surprised with it not raining on one of those days. But, what if it doesn't rain on either of those days? Then you are anxious, because you don't know when it will rain, just that it will! I mean, why can't all the weather "people" get together, and converse with The Lord? Get a sure shot answer as to what the weather would be for the week, then you would only have to watch one weather "person" because they would all be giving the same forecast. The girls could watch the cutest boy weather man and the men could watch the cutest boy weather man too. Because, at least in my house, I rule the remote. (ok, I really don't, I just like to pretend I do.) I mean, does it really matter if it is 90 on Monday on one channel and 89 on Monday on another channel? Does that one degree make that much of a difference? Probably not...but when it says rain on Tuesday on one channel and rain on Wednesday on another channel, then what do you do? Who do you trust? That's what this is all about, trust. Which weather person can I trust?!?!

* ok, so I do see that it might be a little odd, but yes, I only watch the news for the weather and I compare weather reports. I'm in the process of getting help.

IN OTHER NEWS!!!!

Will went to his every FIRST campfire on Friday. We went with our friends Ross and Gina up to Big Cottonwood Canyon to roast marshmallows and starburst! Will was completely mesmorized by the fire. And the river! He is just getting SO big! He sleeps through the night now. In fact, it is just now 10:20, and he's waking. So, now I have to leave!

Run Forrest, Run!

Did you know giving birth is the equivalent to a full marathon? That's right, going through labor is the same as running a full 26.2 miles. I bet you also didn't know that being a stay at home mom is the HARDEST job on the planet. Today, after Andy got home, he was holding Will for a little while, and I could tell Will was tired. So I swaddled him like we always do before bed time. Then, I asked Andy if he wanted him back. This is what he said, and I quote, "Hmm...my arms are tired." YOUR arms are tired! You would never make it being here with him all day! He thinks he would, but I know he would go nuts.

Speaking of going nuts. I feel I am slowly loosing my mind. I spend all day, every day with Will. I am never alone. There have even been times where I haven't even peed alone. Yes, that's right. I have taken my son with me to the bathroom. Don't worry, I am sanitary about it. Andy gets to go to work, or school, or even go play video games with his buddies. His "wind down time." Well, what about MY wind down time? Just because Will is sleeping doesn't mean I get to stop. There are still dishes to do, or clothes to put away, and don't even talk to me about vacuuming. That happens about once ever blue moon, unless Andy does it before then. Then, there is trying to at least shower and make myself look presentable. It doesn't happen often either.

My cure for loosing my sanity? Well, as I said before, giving birth is like running a full marathon. So, starting next week, I will be going running...I'll actually start out as a brisk walk (I'm not much of a runner...) and I will be going BY MYSELF. Although, I would like a friend to come with...any volunteers??

Exercise creates endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don't go nuts!

*as a side note, we're moving into a two bedroom next month! That will probably help with the sanity on my part.

One a day

So...I have broken three, yes that's right THREE of our glasses sine we have been married. In case you all forgot, we were married March 2008. Just a little over a year ago. So, pretty much I have managed to break one glass about every 6 months. The sad thing is, we have really awesome glasses. At this rate we will need to get a new set of glasses every four years. Nice. I'm sure we'll manage to break some the times we move. So, let's see here, by the time we go to medical school, we should just go ahead a toss our remaining glasses because it will be four years. Get some new ones when we get to wherever it is we are going. Then, by the time we finish med school, we'll need a new set. Then, we'll just wait until we get wherever Andy ends up doing his residency, because it will be another four years. I donno why the glass breaking always happens to me! Maybe because I am the one who usually does the dishes, and I always manage to tap the glass on the faucet. Or maybe it's just because my glasses hate me and want to die. I don't know!

In other news, we've planted the garden! This year's hot items include rosemary, lemon grass, cucumber, roma and campbell tomatoes, bush beans (and no, it's not Bush's Baked Beans) brussle sprouts, and spinach. I am hoping every thing grows. I am a little worried about the spinach. We hear it doesn't grow well in Utah climate. I really wanted to get a fruit tree, but we only have the garden plot until November :( One day, I am going to be one of those crazy lady's with long grey hair, who wears a huge sun hat and overalls, who gardens all day. Makes remidies out of the different herbs I grow and my own soaps and lotions. That's right. I'll be a medicine woman in the backwoods of North Carolina. (Andy knows all of this, he laughs. He's got another thing comin though.)

Will has started trying to roll over! I can't believe how fast he is growing! He likes to play with his kick and crawl aquarium. He makes goofy faces at himself in the little mirror. He's also getting really good at tummy time and actually enjoys it now...most times ;) He's also quite the talker. He wakes up in the morning just talking and talking away. He does that all day. I love it. I love just getting my things done (dishes and such) and listening to him talk! It is the best sound ever! We plan on going swimming lots this summer. I am a pool rat and plan to raise my children the same way.

On the menu tonight: SHRIMP Fettichini Alfredo. Yummy goodness :)

I would love some new recipes. I always like to try new things and since Will is starting to entertain himself more, I have some time to devote to trying new recipes! Let me know what you've got!

Ah, swimsuit season

Dear Post-Pregnancy Body,
I know you don't want to hear this, but I wish you would just go away. I did not enjoy trying on 12 different swimsuits on you. I miss not having stretch marks and small boobs. (which I NEVER thought I would say.) Why couldn't you just go back to normal after Will was born? Why do you make it so difficult to make me look cute? I have tried to work off the extra weight, but you keep me gravitating to the chocolates and ice cream. What's up with that? Don't you want me to look good? Don't get me wrong...I do LIKE my new curves, but help me to "lift" things up a bit, won't ya? I'm not trying to be rude, I just feel like I need to tell you these things. It is summer time after all. We want to be able to take Will swimming, don't we?

Love,
Mycah

Yeah...I tried on about 12 swimsuits today. Not the funnest thing ever. Having such joy really does come with a price tag on the self-esteem sometimes. Although it upsets me somewhat, I have decided I'll wear my stretch marks and "extra-weight" with pride. Hey, I pushed a kid out of me, ok? I deserve it. It's no easy feat. I've lost quite a bit of weight...but those 3 weeks of bed rest really allowed me to pack on the pounds...awesome. Next time I have a baby, first off, I won't be largely pregnant during the winter...I'd rather be sweating then slipping and putting myself on bed rest. Second off, since I will have one kid running around, I won't be allowed to sit on the tush quite as often. That's a good thing. Thirdly...ice cream everyday? Yeah...I'll have sherbet I suppose.

Oh, to have a post pregnancy body.

He's keepin up with the big kids!

So we had Will weighed and measured last week...he's 11 pounds now! He's gained about 5.5 pounds since he was born! Because he is a preemie, they treat him his gestational age. So even though he was born 3 months ago, he is gestationally 2 months...stupid I know, but I guess I get it. Well, the nurse who I talked to said she isn't supposed to do this, but Will is in the 50th percentile for everything among 3 monthers! So, even though he's "technically 2 months" he's just like everyone else his age! I am so happy! He has such a rough start, but that's not stopping him at all!

Andy is finally home from Boston! I am so happy! He got to do lots of fun things while he was there. He went to Cheers, he went to the U.S.S Constitution and some Portuguese restaurant. He got me a shirt from Cheers! I'm SO glad he is home now!

Will giggled for the first time the other day. CUTEST sound I have ever heard in my life!

I love my family so much!

I've learned how to use my sewing machine! I'm going to make myself a skirt! Hopefully it turns out well! Wish me luck.

What the???

So, Will has decided he no longer wants to sleep like a champ. He's been waking up a least 3 times a night to eat. I guess he's going through a growth spurt. Little punk, mom needs her sleep! hehe only kidding, I love him...but I do need my sleep :P

So, once in a blue moon...

I think that's about how often I've been writing in this thing! I know, I'm horrible. And I must apologize to Kara for being a SLACKER! Sorry! I do love you!

Just to update everyone about what has been going on here, life has been great! Will is getting SO big! (I'll post pictures later) He laughs, smiles, and LOVES to hit things! We have this little gym thing for him, it's got fish that hang so he can hit them with his hands and a ball at his feet so he can kick it! It's so cute! He just giggles and coos every time he plays it. He's started sleeping an average of 11 hours a night, only waking up once. I owe it all to The Happiest Baby on the Block and Dr. Karp's method. If you are going to have a baby, read it. NOW! The weather has been great here, so we have been playing outside everyday. Will loves to be outside. One day last week, it was too cold to be outside, but I wanted to get some fresh air, so I took Will with me to check the mail, when we came back inside, he was SO mad. I am glad that he enjoys being outside though.

Our good friends the Davey's are leaving us and moving across the country to New Hampshire. We will miss them so much! Andy is going to drive with Brandon on Wednesday, leaving Will and I to fend for ourselves! (only kidding, we're gonna stay with Andy's mom) I am not quite ready to stay by myself at night. I know, what a sissy huh? It's ok though, my grandma bought me a sewing machine and while Andy is gone, I'm gonna make some curtains for our living room.

Andy has started working weekends at Rio Tinto stadium for the Real Salt Lake Soccer Team, working for the box office. He really likes it. Also, as the nice weather has started showing up, we got the scooter out! We love our Scoot and I can't wait to take it for a spin...too bad it is going to be raining all weekend :(

Andy's been preparing for the MCAT and I will be honest...I can NOT wait for it to be OVER!

In about 4 weeks, Will is going to have a new cousin! Little Kenz! We are so excited for Cass to have her baby! It'll be so fun! Even if his new cousin is a girl :P

I have been nursing Will since we brought him home from the hospital. As most of you know, it's not been a cake walk for us. I've been exercising a lot lately, and I didn't realize that pushing myself too hard could be drastic for my milk supply. I noticed that Will was getting really fussy and he was always pulling away when it was time to eat, so I decided to give him a bottle and pump, to see how much I could get. I barely got an ounce. So, I have started taking Fenugreek (Thanks Meghan!) I've only been taking it for one day, but Will hasn't gotten annoyed with eating yet today, let's hope he keeps it up and I can too.

Sorry I've been such a slacker. I promise I will post pictures of Will soon :)
